Normal Is An Illusion

Normal is an illusion

Which shapes our perspective

that creates our perception

And perception influences our decisions

Normal is an illusion

Like a fog that is constantly shifting

Within which we move and take for granted

Will always be there

Normal is an illusion upon which

We base all our decisions

In our normal life

And the world it has created for us

Then something happens

There is an atomic shift in our normal

The fog is obliterated

We are standing there naked

Nothing makes sense anymore

We work tirelessly to get our normal back

But trying to grab a piece of fog and move it

Just doesn't work

Our muscles and our mind aches from the effort

We are confused because our perception

Is cockeyed and we cannot seem to get it into focus

Slowly, ever so slowly, a new fog begins to surround us

Our nakedness begins to get covered

But we are no longer that same person we were

A new IS begins to settle in

At first uncomfortable, in time it fits

We begin to explore

the new perspectives created

Our perception underwent a seismic shift

Our decisions are different than they would have been

The old illusion of normal

No longer exists

The person who lived within it

No longer exists
