Warrior Woman

Again, I must brace for battle
just as I have done before
when I am being threatened
I will don the gear of war
My mind is filled with visions
of the outcome I must embrace
against the insidious nature
of the enemy with no face
I must never let the creature
chip away at my resolve
to weaken body and spirit
a strategy I WILL solve
As warrior I am tested
against the nature of the beast
to fear the name as spoken
my onslaught will not cease
My armies stand behind me
ever ready at the fore
to give me strength and courage
to rise up from the floor
The battles are ever draining
never knowing what's in sight
surprise attacks relentless
try to break the will to fight
But wage I will at every turn
each day brings hope apace
I will take the slings and arrows
to the enemy with no face
Weary and sick today I am
My armies closed in ranks
To guard me in my weakness
Lend energy, courage, and strength.
A warrior woman proud, strong
today the battle is draining
Should I fall, then I shall crawl
My armies are sustaining
the battle, if lost today, marks NOT
the victory of this war
But only a battle met and done
A mere chapter in the core.
But when the war is finally through
Take the field you won the race
You are the Warrior Woman who met
The enemy with no face
